What would you do if you knew that you only had 6 months to live? How would you feel? How would you spend your last moments on this planet? For Former Carnige Mellon Professor Randy Pausch (RIP) these were questions that he really had to face. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer and found out that he only had a few months left to live. Instead of feeling self pity and defeat he put together what he deemed “The Last Lecture.” This video is not only inspirational, but also life changing. He touches on the subject of achieving your childhood goals in a really impactful way. Randy’s words have had a profound effect on me and I’m quite sure that they will touch you as well. The lecture is about an hour and fifteen minutes long so clear out some time so you can watch this in its entirety. Enjoy!
So, What’s Your Plan?

Let me just come right out and say it. There is no such thing as something for nothing. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get rich quick. Overnight successes do not exist. Yet and still, many people from all walks of life seem to think that all they have to do is sign up for the latest and greatest business opportunity and will in a matter of months walk away with millions. Easy.
There is a saying that you may have heard that sums this up. “If it were easy, EVERYONE would do it.”
Now let’s be clear. I don’t say this to deter you from pursuing your dreams of business success but rather so that you enter into the endeavor with both eyes wide open and as much knowledge as possible.
With that out of the way let me also say that YOUR success is 100% guaranteed if, despite my ominous “warning,” you are still willing to put in the hard work necessary to make your business flourish. If your mindset is to win at all costs and never give up then you will receive exactly what you have believed for.
So, now that we have that out of the way we need to come up with a plan to help get you there. Where do you want to be? When do you want to get there? What are you realistically willing to do on a consistent basis to get there?
Then set a long-term goal. For the sake of this article we will call long term one year. What monetary amount do you want to have achieved in that time frame? Now write out every step or action that you would have to take to get you there.
Take it a step further and break those actions up into monthly then weekly and finally daily activities. Then you concentrate on a daily basis on completing those actions. As you start to consistently complete these tasks you will gain a sense of accomplishment that will spur you on and on until you get to where you planned on going.
Pretty soon you will build momentum and before you know it you will be getting so much accomplished that you may surprise yourself!
